Special Teacher Coming!

Well there is snow on the ground melting and the sun is trying to come out, but it's cold. So I thought I would brighten everyone's day and let you in on a secret.....

Meg Hawkey of Crabapple Hill Studio will be here in August to teach for us. I won't have all the details till after May when she gets back from Market, but I can share with you all now. We are so excited to have her here. We are planning all kinds of fun stuff for while she is here. If you have never gotten to take a class from her, you will not want to miss out on this one. She is so much fun and always make something special for the class to make that no one has seen before. So stay tuned and check back to get more info on Meg's Class.

Our Retreat in Dec at Crabapple Hill Studio

Hi everyone,
I have finally got my photos off the camera from Decembers Retreat with Meg at Crabapple Hill Studio. We had such a great time. This was a mother daughter trip and we had a blast. We went antiquing and shopped till we dropped!
Then we stitched till the all the cows were home and asleep!!

What's New?

Lets see where to start. I will be a grandma the end of May. It's a girl! Great Grammy and I are very happy to have a little girl to spoil. There has been lots of snow that is now starting to melt. We are glad to see it melt away. The Super Bowl Sew Party is full for sewing machines, but we can take a couple of more people to do handwork. We have been accepted to be a vendor at the Moscow Quilt Show in April. So we will be working on a booth idea and getting ready for that event. The I Sew, So I Hop, shop hop is coming in May. So I am working on a pattern for that and gearing up for a fun two day event. We are going to have Meg Hawkey from Crabapple Hill Studio in Aug for two classes!!!! Oh boy, we can not wait! (We sure got spoiled at her Dec retreat and we are going to attend one in March). We are so happy! So watch for more details on all the events coming up!

New location!

We are all moved in and doing well in our new location of 101 S. Main Street, Colfax, WA 99111.
We moved one block but it felt like one state away! We are still finding things that we know we saw some where and now can't find. I think that happens with any move. The class room is wonderful and we hear from the ladies it's nice and bright. I am working on the Jan - April classes trying to get them out to you all by the end of November. It's hard to believe it's almost Nov. We have gone from a late summer to an early winter in weather. And that's great for starting on those presents we all want to make for the holidays. We have new yarns coming from Euro Yarns. We are selling Espresso now in our new coffee bar. The colder weather is bringing in people for coffee too. All in all we are very happy with our new home and hope you all can come and see us soon.
Here is a new happy side note, I will be a gramma in June and that makes Caren a great gramma!!
So we will be collecting baby stuff now.

New Building?

Hi everyone.
The big question we have been getting at the store is...... Are you getting a new building? Yes we are! We won't be moving till Labor Day weekend and will be closed for a week. We will be joining The Hen House Chicks in the building one block south from us. Our new building will give us twice the retail space and almost 3 times the class room space. So with that I am busy working on our next section of classes for September through December. We will be packing in the classes, clubs and events. Keep watching for our updates. I hope to get it all out in the mail the first week in Aug so you have time to look it all over.
We will have all our wonderful fabrics and will now have gift items thanks to the Hen House Chicks.
We are all looking forward to the new changes.

Crabapple Hill Retreat!

Knoty Girls Spring Retreat Wendy and Caren coloring away!

We just got back from our 3 day retreat at Crabapple Hill Studio. We had the best time and got lots of stitching done. There was lots of food and goodies to eat. We colored and stitched till the cows came home! We made needle cases, and bling pins to go in our wonderful pin cushions that they gave us. We went shopping in town at antique shops, had wonderful Italian food and Chocolate Mouse! We met lots of great woman and shared lots of stories and laughter. We laughed so hard we were all crying at one point in time. We made new friends, including Honeybunny the cat. When I got home my Fiona and Chunk would not let me leave the couch. I must have been missed. We can't wait to go there again! Thank you Meg, Jan, Cindy and Shelia for all your wonderful kindness and great food and fun!

New Blog for The Quilted Moose

Hi everyone. This is a new adventure for me. I figured we needed a blog so you could see what goes on here at The Quilted Moose. I plan to give updates and show you photos of the classes and people that visit us and take our classes. Now you can see what they do in class and maybe you will be inspired to start a new project or take up quilting all together.

In June, Ann and I were able to sneak off on a Sunday to attend a class at the Haberdashery in Spokane. The class was a hand embroidery class with Meg Hawkey of Crabapple Hill Studio.

Ok we love her and all her wonderful patterns....just can't say it enough. If you have never had the joy of taking one of her classes.....I am sorry you missed it. She is wonderful. Great person and so much fun. She is a very busy lady. We tried real hard to get her to come to our store and teach a class. She is too booked. But you can sign up for one of her Retreats at her new studio. Then you can go visit her and see her wonderful patterns in person.

Back to the class. We really did have a great time. We worked on a purse pattern (not yet released for the public) that has pansies and flowers on it. We are both still working on our purses. The shop there was real cute and the people were so great. We had a blast. We didn't want to go home yet. So we stopped at the bead shop and then Michael's for photo frames and then got real hungry so we ended our shopping spree and got dinner. Then headed back to Colfax.
